Schedule: Part-Time | Flexible Scheduling
Department: The Hope Therapy Center
Reports To: Clinical Director

About the Opportunity

The Hope Therapy Center is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis! This is an excellent opportunity for someone with medical billing experience who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and helping ensure that important therapy services remain accessible to the families we serve.

In this role, you'll oversee key aspects of the medical billing process, including insurance authorizations, claims review, payment reconciliation, credentialing, and communication with insurance providers. You'll work closely with our clinical team and external billing partners to keep operations running smoothly and ensure services are accurately billed and reimbursed.

We're looking for someone who is organized, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of their work. Experience with Medicaid, commercial insurance, and pediatric or behavioral health services is especially valuable.

What You'll Do

  • Manage insurance authorizations, including obtaining, tracking, and maintaining approvals to support uninterrupted client services.

  • Maintain client and provider information within CentralReach, including staff accounts and reporting.

  • Monitor billing activity and analyze reports to ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time.

  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), investigate payment discrepancies, and assist with claim denials and appeals.

  • Identify outstanding claims, unpaid balances, and problem accounts, and work toward timely resolution.

  • Coordinate provider credentialing and maintain enrollment with insurance companies.

  • Serve as a point of contact between Hope, insurance companies, clients, and third-party billing partners.

  • Maintain familiarity with current billing codes, payer requirements, and insurance procedures.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to identify billing concerns and opportunities to improve workflows.

  • Develop and maintain organized billing procedures, documentation, and best practices.

  • Help identify opportunities to maximize authorized services and support the delivery of care to our clients.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years of medical billing and coding experience.

  • Experience working with multiple insurance payers, including Medicaid and commercial insurance.

  • At least 1 year of experience with mental health, behavioral health, or pediatric therapy billing.

  • Strong understanding of insurance authorizations, claims processing, payment reconciliation, and denials.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • A proactive problem-solver who enjoys taking ownership of responsibilities and improving processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CentralReach.

  • Familiarity with ABA, IBHS, or other pediatric therapy services.

Why Join The Hope Therapy Center?

  • Part-Time Flexibility: Enjoy the opportunity to contribute your expertise without the commitment of a traditional full-time schedule.

  • Meaningful Work: Support the delivery of therapy services that make a difference in the lives of children and families.

  • Independent Work: Take ownership of your responsibilities and use your experience to make a meaningful impact.

  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a dedicated clinical and administrative team.

  • Opportunity to Make an Impact: Help strengthen and improve the systems that support our growing therapy program.
